We have had a group of 6 to 8 guys go to El Cuchillo the last three Januarys. The fishing has been good and I caught my personal best this year with a 11.12. The lodge is first class, the food is good, and our guides all have new, big bass boats. Some of our group had business that they could handle on the internet while we were there also. We are going back this next year too.

This was my first year to El Cuchillo and it will not be my last. I have fished all over Mexico and this was the best experience I have had. It is so easy to get to from McAllen, Texas, and I feel safe there. We stay at the Holiday Don Carlos on the lake which is part of the Holiday Inn chain. The lodge is in a state park with a security gate. I caught my biggest bass ever this year at 11.10. We are going back!!!

What an easy trip. You picked us up and took us back to the airport in McAllen. You had all our licenses and permits ready before we got there. The lodging was as good as anything I have stayed at in Mexico and the food was really good. I have not quite made it to the ten pound club but I will be back next year to catch my big one.

I think El Cuchillo is ready to have another great run of good fishing and hope to see all of you again soon. It was good to see a lot of you at the Claremore tackle show. I have given hundreds of fishing seminars in Spanish but it was the first for me to give one in English.
